Open FirmwareAs part of the learning process to port OpenBSD to Old World Macs, we learned a great deal about Forth and Open Firmware (and PowerPC and BSD kernels and bootloaders and...). In order to share that knowledge, we have written and released two tutorials on Forth and Open Firmware. Part I discusses the fundamental concepts to Forth and interacts with Open Firmware for several examples, with illustrations. Part II expands the use of Forth to explore the hardware environment, with code and results, but no illustrations. |
